October to end of December. Departure times vary.
Spotlight Safaris
Highland Adventure Safaris Dull by Aberfeldy

Phone for details. Duration 1½ hours
As night time falls, venture up into the hills by Land Rover with your kilted guide for a trip full of excitement and discovery. Armed with our powerful spotlight search for Red Deer, Roe Deer, Foxes, Owls and other creatures of the night. One of the awe-inspiring sights that will await you on a clear night is the brilliant display of a starry sky. With zero light pollution around you, the heavens take on a whole new splendour, especially on a clear moonless night. Using state of the art technology with our Sky Scout telescope we can name almost every star in the night sky. On more overcast nights we supply torches so that you can enjoy a torch lit walk into an ancient Caledonian pine forest.  Tel 01887 820071 www.highlandadventuresafaris.co.uk

Friday 17th October - Sunday 2nd November
The Enchanted Forest and the Pitlochry Autumn Festival
Scotland’s premier sound and light show returns to Faskally Wood near Pitlochry. Spectacular sound and lighting effects will be used to illustrate the earth’s history from its early volcanic state, the Ice Age and the Jurassic era right through to modern times. Includes a spectacular 10 minute choreographed display which, with the help of high level aerial lighting effects, coloured water jets and smoke, will gradually see the loch turn into a bubbling cauldron!

After the show visitors will be able to follow the illuminated path around the loch and through the forest where they will be taken on a kaleidoscopic tour of the seasons, and into the aptly-named ‘mystical wood’ where they will be transported to a place that really is out of this world!

Tickets must be pre-booked. Tickets priced £9.50 (Adult), £8.50 (Concessions) and £4.50 (Children under 15) are on sale from Ticketmaster, Tel. 0844 847 1544, or online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk Booking fee applies. Children under 5 admitted free.
