A special night of Highland
entertainment for all ages. The local,
well known Vale of Atholl Robert Wiseman
Junior Pipe Band will open the programme in
rousing style, followed by a welcome in
Gaelic.
A highlight of the evening will be the prize
winning Badenoch Tweed Waulking Group from
Kingussie. The ladies will demonstrate the
old method of tweed shrinking, accompanying
their actions with Gaelic songs as the tweed
is passed through their hands around the
table.
Other attractions will include a sheep
shearing demonstration, wool spinning, dry
stane dyking, horse gymnastics, the
attendance of the Kinloch Rannoch fire
engine and crew and “Braveheart” Plaid
dressing.
Silly McB the clown will keep the younger
ones occupied along with hay bogey rides,
face painting, bouncy castle and a pet dog
show.
Refreshments will be available and there is
the chance to snap up a bargain at the car
boot sale, win a prize in the raffle, while
the object identification competition will
set brains and memories going.
All proceeds are in aid of the Atholl
Country Life Museum a registered Scottish

An Exhibition of photographs from a new
publication on the resurgence of woodland
culture in the British Isles. The
exhibition was originally shown at the
Botanics in Edinburgh last year and is based
around the beautiful book Woodlanders which
features several projects in our area
including the Crannog, the David Douglas
Pavilion in Pitlochry, work by Robin Baker
Architects and Claire Hewitt.
